Alfonso Diez Luckie, a diplomat from Spain.
Sr.
Diez Luckie purchased the 280SE for his wife ,Julia Hidalgo de Luckie in 1968 and the car remained in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain from 1968 to 1974.
She would also occasionally drive it to visit their other home in Paris.
In 1974 Sr.
Diez Luckie died and the widow Sra Julia Diez Hidalgo de Luckie moved to Madrid, Spain where she kept the car in the underground storage below her penthouse until the late 1970s when she relocated to London.
In London she used the car sparingly for short trips to the country side and would loan it to her son when he visited.
In 1980 Julia asked her close freind John Morison if he would like to purchase the car.
